At the end of the day, your partner wants to have sex but you are not at all interested and cite exhaustion because of culprit libido. Many women are not as interested in sex as they’d like to be. However, this condition has become quite common these days and is popularly known as hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD). Loss of libido or low sexual desire is a common form of female sexual dysfunction (FSD), which means disturbance in the sexual functioning of a woman. FSD also includes sexual pain disorders, sexual arousal disorders and orgasm disorder in women. Symptoms of low sexual desire are less sexual thoughts, lack of desire which is not because of any other physical or psychiatric condition or a specific medication, but distress due to lack of desire to do sex and problems in relationship with partner.

The desire of a woman for sex depends on the complex interaction of many components affecting intimacy such as physical and emotional well-being, experiences, beliefs, current relationship and lifestyle. If a woman experiences a problem in any of these areas, she is affected from lack of sexual desire.

However, anyone suffering from any of these symptoms is not alone but there are 46% women experiencing low sex desire. Six out of ten women distress their dulled cravings for sex. Many of these women don’t have any problem with having orgasms but they either have no desire to have sex or their minds are not turned on by the prospect of love-making.

Further, for many women lack of libido or low sexual desire is temporary and usually has a perfect explanation.
